A L O H A! Itʻs been over 3 whole years since 2012 when the doors of our small business store, Something for Everybody opened with only second-hand clothes and home decor. And that. just. seems. like. yesterday. But when we reflect back on everything weʻve done, we then canʻt believe we did all of that within only 3 years! Lol! Within our first year of business, we added our made on Molokai line, Na Mea Molokai to the store to add a touch of our island within our apparel and accessories. Our first shirt "I Love Molokai" is still our most loved and in 2013 we began to feature other inspired Natives and their Molokai-inspired jewelry, accessories and more! Being that we were tucked on the top floor and in the middle of the buidling, to keep top of mind within our community, we loaded up our cars with inventory and attended Molokai events to share what we feature in the store all while spreading our love of Molokai through our products!
And just when we were comfy with our small shop, we were given the blessing of a bigger space so we up and moved store locations! And not only to a bigger space, but right next door facing the main street! Woohoo! In 2014 our customers had more room to move through the aisles and we had more room to feature our products and produce our inventory in the shop instead of at home and even our keiki corner got upgraded with their own color desk to wait while Mom shops! Lol!!
We then hit the ground running, flying in the sky and riding boats in the sea (literally!) to attend off-island events like the Merrie Monarch Events in Hilo, Kalo Festival in Hana, the Made in Maui Festival at the MACC, a couple of small Oʻahu events and even participated in California and Oklahoma Events as well. Within our pop-up shop walls, our Na Mea Molokai line brought the island to our customers not only by sharing our ʻāina-inspired products, but sharing Molokaiʻ s Aloha spirit exuding from all the stories we tell about the people that make them, how we make them and the connections that connect all of us which is so Molokai! The products we feature are more than just treasures found in the ʻāina or kai, but also found in our native Hawaiian concepts driven by Aloha.
With all of the inventory needed to produce for the store and events, we stocked our shelves with all new apparel and accessories and opened up a Custom Corner to allow our customers to be a part of what they wear and custom design their very own shirt, hat, skirt, dress, stickers and more! Everything hanging in the storeʻs shelves can either be purchased as is or can be a blank canvases for people to custom design what they want and be a part of that creative process for their very own, one of a kind item. We also managed to add a Visitor Information corner with free maps, beach gear rentals and a place for people to just come and talk story about the island. Using our past background experience in hospitality and event coordination, we started our destination Wedding Groups services and with all of this going on, we had a major rebranding of our store concept to offer two things: PRODUCTS featuring all things made on Molokai and SERVICES to connect you with all the things you need while on Molokai.
And now in the winter of 2015, we are finally announcing our newest location...the World Wide Web...ONLINE! Thatʻs right folks, WE ARE FINALLY ONLINE and so thrilled to announce the arrival of our Online Shop just in time for tomorrowʻs Cyber Monday!
